My process begins with finding the book page that speaks to the personality of the animal being painted. I have a wide variety of background media to choose from including vintage storybook pages, antique newspapers, maps, and vintage wrapping paper. I then sketch the animal digitally and trace it onto the background. Doing the actual painting is my favorite part, I love color and will often include some bright hues to add depth and interest. When the painting is finished I can share an image with you before shipment. Finished paintings are 8x10 unless a different size is requested (larger sizes will require more pages and cost will increase).
